I have a strong awareness of the line between sharing too much about my life and actually providing valuable content to readers. However, it's a very important part of yoga to study oneself, to reflect on motives, thought pattern grooves, etc... There are times my blog posts veer toward what might seem like the ego chat hour, but ultimately my goal is to explore my patterns to understand them in order to better serve my students.
So! Today when I got my regular email newsletter from Marie Forleo entitled "How to Transition from Your Day Job to Your Dream Business," I clicked on that super fast! Um, yes, please tell me how NOW!
The most potent part of the video for me was the idea of loving my day job while I'm at it... Essentially, if I spend eight plus hours a day stewing in resentment for my "predicament," there's no way I'll have the energy for my dream business when I leave at the end of the day! This almost seems too obvious, but I hadn't made that connection! Of course! What I do the most often becomes who I am. Blech. I don't want to spend a third or more of my life in resentment!
So here we go. Day one of not resenting my job. Attitude adjustment starts now. No more hating my day job. It's serving a purpose... a little security as I pay off credit cards... I'm going to let my life unfold at the speed it has to.
Here's Marie's full video that I found so insightful.
