Practice Report!
Sunday, Day 14 we had a Yoga Nidra practice led by Jan Wheeler. That was really great for me today! Normally, if I'm horizontal at 6 AM, I'm sleeping, but I managed to stay awake for the entire session! I've practiced yoga nidra before, but it was always in the evening. Jan teaches a 7:30 PM class on Tuesday nights that I've attended. Yoga nidra is essentially a deeply restorative guided meditation, this variation developed by Richard Miller of iRest Yoga Nidra. A few of the other teachers at AlleyCat also teach yoga nidra, and it's something I've also been interested in. Perhaps the next time there is a week-long retreat in St. Louis, I'll finally go!
Monday, Day 15 we were back to the asana and pranayama practice. It felt good to practice, as the only asana practice I'd done over the weekend was teach my classes, and that is so not the same!
Tuesday, Day 16 - totally tired and set my alarm for 7 am the night before, not even trying to get up. This was a planned skip (/blush). I taught my Deep Stretch Restorative class until 9 pm Monday night and felt rebellious so I stayed up late hanging out with the boyfriend. Too little of that lately.
Wednesday, Day 17 - Egads! Slept in, this time accidentally. iPod beeped at 5 AM, hit snooze and thought only 10 mins had passed, but really 55 had. I woke at 5:55 AM. Blergh! I don't like going to class late, so I just slept in til 7. Oy! Ok, that's five misses this time! Oh well, that's life! I have four more sessions in the 21 day adventure, and will make every one of them! That's my intention!
!!
It's so great how much the "!" can say!
